Day 1: Fes – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga & The Sahara

Your immersive journey commences at 8:00 AM with a pick-up from your Fes accommodation. We venture into the Middle Atlas Mountains, pausing in the charming alpine-style town of Ifrane for a brief stroll, followed by a visit to the cedar forests of Azrou to observe the native Barbary macaques in their natural habitat.

Lunch awaits in Midelt, nestled at the foot of Mount Ayachi and renowned as the apple capital. We then ascend the dramatic Tizi-n-Talremt pass, descending into the breathtaking expanse of the Ziz Valley. Here, one of the world's longest palm groves creates a stunning ribbon of green, dotted with ancient ksars (fortified villages).

The route continues through Er Rachidia to Erfoud, a gateway town famous for its fossil workshops and annual date festival. Your destination is the edge of the golden dunes at Merzouga. Here, you will meet your cameleer and mount a gentle camel for a 1.5-hour sunset trek into the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Upon arrival at our exclusive desert camp, you'll ascend the highest dunes to witness a spectacular sunset. After lunch nearby, we embark on our final scenic traverse: crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi n'Tichka Pass.
